Astrid Joost-van der Spek (49) has been appointed as the new head of Helaba's Capital Markets division and will take up her new position by 1 July 2022. Under her management, a key priority will be developing the bank's sustainable capital markets activities that are aligned with ESG criteria.
Hans Dieter Kemler, a member of Helaba's Executive Board whose areas of responsibility include Capital Markets, remarked: "We are very much looking forward to working with Astrid Joost-van der Spek. Thanks to the wealth of expertise that she brings, we are confident that she will successfully drive our capital markets business while at the same time advancing the interests of our customers."
Astrid Joost-van der Spek will be joining Helaba from Union Investment, where she most recently held the position of Department Head, Head of Sales - International Client Relations, responsible for sales and account management for institutional clients outside Germany and Austria, with a focus on Europe, Asia and the Middle East. She launched her career in the investment banking divisions of, among others, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank. Having then held the position of Managing Director of the start-up Value-Price AG as well as StatPro (Deutschland) GmbH, a global provider of performance attribution services, she joined Union Investment as Head of International Business in 2012.
