Accessibility Declaration

This accessibility declaration applies to the website of Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen as published at https://www.helaba.com/.

As a public-sector body within the meaning of Directive (EU) 2016/2102, we strive to make our websites and mobile applications accessible in accordance with the provisions of the German Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BGG) and the Ordinance on Accessible Information Technology (BITV 2.0) for the implementation of Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Status of compliance with requirements

The accessibility requirements are based on Section 3(1) to (4) and Section 4 of BITV 2.0, which was enacted on the basis of Section 12d BGG.

This review of compliance with the requirements is based on a self-assessment conducted on 15 July 2022.
Based on the review, the website is not compliant with the aforementioned requirements.

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

  1.  Video content used to convey information does not contain text-based subtitles that can be dynamically switched on and off. In addition, there are no alternative versions with a dubbed audio description or full-text alternatives available.
  2. In some cases, the images, objects and layout graphics used on the website and in linked PDF documents are not accompanied by alternative texts.
  3. In some cases, structural HTML elements for headings and lists on the website and in linked PDF documents are not correctly labelled.
  4. Structural HTML elements for quotations on the website as well as in linked PDF documents are not correctly labelled as blockquote elements.
  5. The brightness contrast of text used on the website and in linked PDF documents is not sufficient in all settings.
  6. In some cases, the visual information of images conveying information and graphical control elements as well as their settings on the website and in linked PDF documents do not display a contrast of at least 3:1 to adjacent colours.
  7. It is not possible to stop all moving or automatically updated content.
  8. Some of the content at the URLs www.helaba.com/de/aldi and helaba.com/de/bvg is integrated using iFrame for technical reasons and is therefore not fully accessible.
  9. The labelling of some form elements is not visible to the left of or above the corresponding input field.

DIGIaccess is used on this website to ensure the following customization options, among others:

  1. Customization of font and font family as well as line spacing, line alignment and line height.
  2. Selection of predefined color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted and monochrome as well as color schemes of titles, texts and backgrounds with various high-contrast color options.
  3. Highlighting of content such as links and titles for better navigation through the website.
  4. Adjustment of color and size of the mouse and virtual keyboard.

There are plans to improve the current shortcomings by 15 May 2024 in order to achieve full accessibility. This declaration was issued on 15 July 2022 and last updated on 19 December 2023.
