Helaba is converting its Stockholm representative office, which was established in 2016, into a fully-fledged branch. This step comes as a result of the bank exceeding its growth targets and planned business volume.
The conversion into a branch means Helaba is laying the groundwork for future growth. From now on, banking services such as the active commissioning, consultation on, negotiation and signing of specific financing arrangements can be realised. In this respect, business activities will continue to be focused on the segments of real estate lending, business customers and corporate finance.
Helaba has been active on the Northern European markets for more than a decade already. “By converting our representative office into a branch, Helaba is creating an even greater presence for itself as a reliable partner near our locally-based customers”, stresses Herbert Hans Grüntker, the Chairman of Helaba’s Board of Managing Directors. “In addition, we provide our international clients with easier access to this dynamic market.”
Over and above its locations in Germany, Helaba maintains a presence in significant global economic centres with branches in Paris, London, New York and – now – Stockholm, as well as representative offices in Madrid, Moscow, Shanghai and Singapore. It has established correspondent banking relationships in 120 countries and has been involved in an expanding and successful cooperation with Deutsche Leasing AG to improve joint support for S-Group and corporate clients in their international business needs.
