Helaba will realise the new skyscraper in conjunction with OFB Projektentwicklung GmbH and the general contractor Ed. Züblin AG based on a design by architects KSP Engel.
Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen yesterday signed a General Contractor Agreement with Ed. Züblin AG for the development of a new high-rise office complex on Neue Mainzer Strasse in Frankfurt. With the preliminary construction application having been approved, the signing of the contract is the next step and initial milestone in the project. It marks the go-ahead for the development of this landmark building - the central business tower - in what is considered the most prestigious location in the CBD of Frankfurt, Germany’s financial capital.
The skyscraper will comprise 52 storeys above ground and 4-5 basement levels and will be primarily used as office space while incorporating the listed plinth building.
The total lettable area will be approx. 72,250 m² (66,000 m² for office and 6,250 m² for public use).
The integration of exhibition space for the Weltkulturen Museum is planned for the 4th floor of the plinth building.
There are no plans for Helaba to occupy the building. A permit for the underground construction work has already been granted and the structural engineering permit is expected to be issued at the beginning of 2022.
OFB, a subsidiary of Helaba, will be responsible for supervising the construction and managing the project for the central business tower.
„Both personally and on behalf of Helaba as the owner, I am thrilled that we have found such a capable partner in the form of Ed. Züblin AG to realise this outstanding high-rise project. With its open-plan and sustainable concept, the central business tower will raise the bar in terms of high-rise development and will ultimately round off the magnificent backdrop along Neue Mainzer Strasse.“
