Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen is preparing well in advance for a change at the helm. At his own request, CEO Thomas Groß will retire when his contract expires in October 2027. The Supervisory Board therefore launched the succession process at its regular meeting today.
“Helaba has always been and remains very close to my heart,” said Thomas Groß. “After more than 20 years in executive board positions, including 15 years at Helaba, the time is right to begin a new chapter in my life.”
“While we would have liked to continue working with Thomas Groß at Helaba, we respect his personal decision not to renew his contract when it expires,” said Stefan G. Reuß, Chairman of Helaba’s Supervisory Board. He also thanked Thomas Groß for announcing his decision well in advance, thereby laying a solid foundation for an orderly succession process. “Now is not the time to pay tribute to Thomas Groß’s service to Helaba, as he will remain with the bank for another year – something I am very grateful for,” Reuß added.
