Volker Skowasch, 52, has been appointed Head of Group Steering at Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen and will take up his position on 1 August 2026. He will report directly to Thomas Groß, Helaba’s CEO.
Since 2016, Skowasch has been a partner at the auditing and consultancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers GmbH in Frankfurt, where he has also served as a member of the PwC Banking & Capital Markets Executive Committee. His work focused on advising on strategic transaction and transformation projects, including at institutions within the Savings Banks Finance Group. Before that, Skowasch held roles including Director of Group Development at Sal. Oppenheim jr. & Cie. S.C.A. in Luxembourg and as a partner at KPMG AG.
Peter Leimert, the previous Head of Group Steering, joined the Management Board of Frankfurter Bankgesellschaft on 1 April 2026 as Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer (CFO/COO).
