Birgitta Leijon to become General Manager of Helaba’s Stockholm branch
Birgitta Leijon is taking over as General Manager of Helaba's Stockholm branch on 1 February 2019.
Birgitta Leijon is taking over as General Manager of Helaba's Stockholm branch on 1 February 2019. From there, together with the "Nordic team" operating in Frankfurt and Stockholm, she will be responsible for the bank's real estate business in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark. Helaba's business activities in Northern Europe include commercial real estate finance as well as the divisions of Business Clients and Corporate Finance.
Helaba converted its representative office in the Swedish capital into a branch as recently as last year. In doing so, the bank underscored the importance of the Nordic markets and positioned itself even more prominently as a reliable partner close to its local customers. Michael Kröger, responsible for international real estate finance at Helaba, emphasises: “Birgitta Leijon is an experienced real estate banker and will contribute her in-depth knowledge and experience both in the market and business environment and in the management of a local branch for an international bank. We are delighted that she has agreed to join us.”
Most recently, Birgitta was a branch manager at Aareal Bank in Sweden, where she was also responsible for the Nordic region. A native of Sweden, she can look back on over 30 successful years in the real estate industry, during which she held management positions at Swedbank and Catella, among others.
